I’m Officially a Law Student!
It’s official!!! I got into law school! Starting this Fall 2025, I will be attending American University Washington College of Law, obtaining my JD with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law. It has been a week and still writing those words, it’s hard to believe. All those years of dreaming, scheming, and working towards this moment, and it is actually happening. I am a law student.
What drew me to American University was not just its outstanding reputation in public interest and international law, but also its strong commitment to innovation and justice, which are all values that deeply resonate with me. Being located in Washington, D.C., means I’ll be at the heart of policy, advocacy, and real change. There’s something electrifying about knowing I’ll be studying law in a city where the decisions that shape our world are made.
While my primary interest lies in intellectual property and corporate law, I’m equally eager to explore other corners of the legal world that have always been my passion, especially criminal justice reform. I’m excited about being able to participate in clinics and externships where I’ll get to leave the classroom and get into practice, working on real cases, helping real people, and learning from practicing lawyers who are doing what I hope to do one day.
Law school is not an easy three years of one’s life, but I am ready. This next step is about more than textbooks, lectures, and cold calls; it is about growth and service. I hope to be the kind of lawyer who is not only smart and strategic but also empathetic and fueled by purpose.
So yes, as one of my favorites goes: I will finally be “in the room where it happens.” And I cannot wait.
