Impartial, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, builds meaningful human connections and programs that improve the criminal justice system through personal and community-driven engagement.
Instead of focusing on a specific area of criminal justice reform, we focus on the people who want to drive change.
We help justice advocates identify how their unique skills and passions can address gaps and errors in the system, empowering them to take action and create meaningful impact.

The US criminal system is a human system.
Ask almost anyone about the US criminal justice system, and they’ll likely respond with an example of injustice. Yet, we must support this flawed system so the next generation of justice leaders will not only understand what it is and what’s possible but be inspired to create change.

Remember that “We, the people” established the very system we now critique. Consequently, we hold both the greatest stake in its outcomes and the power to transform it. Collectively, we are the criminal justice system because it only functions through human decisions and actions. Often, possibilities of change are revealed soon after you take the first
step. You may not realize who stands ready to join you in addressing the issues you care about until you begin. Impartial facilitates these initiatives because we achieve more through collaboration.
The solution is to make the work that needs to be done manageable and personal.
Impartial is a commitment to unite and discover how to make a unique justice impact that only you can deliver.

Our Programs.
We launched Impartial in a capacity-building phase, developing our prison artwork, justice video games, content, data and membership programs. While significant progress has been made, each initiative is at a different stage of development. Every program’s goal is to generate awareness, foster connection, and create income for continued support.

Our prison artwork program is in place. It includes proprietary and community artwork auctions, prison artists’ stories, exhibitions, and streaming artwork subscriptions. Auctions will be announced on the website. Artwork subscriptions allow you to customize artwork selections for display in conference rooms, foyers, or other venue screens. If you’re interested in staying informed about our prisoner artwork program, please reach out to us: Prison Artwork Opportunity.
Our criminal justice video game series will be comprised of nine games spanning the journey from investigation through sentencing. Each based on an actual prosecution. We’ve completed two-thirds of game development and anticipate completion in early 2026. Meanwhile, if you’re interested in our progress, have resources to contribute, or wish to participate as a tester, please provide your information here: Video Game Opportunity.
Our new membership program is now available.

A higher purpose sustains many of us through personal challenges, offering perspective and meaning when our individual worlds seem overwhelming. It reminds us that we can make a difference in someone else’s life, potentially countless lives, by taking action where we see opportunity for change and have the capacity to contribute.
Donors
Your donation funds the operational backbone that makes our programs possible, connecting prison artists with audiences, law students with mentorship, and fellow nonprofits with the resources they need to succeed. We know you’ve felt that pang of conscience when you hear about injustice but aren’t sure how to channel it into meaningful action, and we transform that feeling into specific, purposeful impact by connecting your values to programs that create real change. Whether you give once or monthly, big or small, your contribution gets channeled directly into helping the people already doing this work (the artists, students, professionals, and advocates) amplify their missions and reach their communities more effectively. You deserve complete transparency about what your investment accomplished, which is why we’re building detailed impact reports that will show you exactly what happened when you trusted us with your funding, because accountability isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Team building through our criminal justice nonprofit program offers your organization a unique opportunity to step away from routine office work and engage in meaningful activities that serve a higher purpose. Participants will collaborate on innovative brainstorming sessions to develop new programs that address real community needs, explore the powerful stories behind prison artwork that humanizes the justice system, and conceptualize justice-themed video games that can educate and inspire social change. We can fully customize the experience to match your team’s size, interests, and preferred activities. For example, we’ve previously hosted a group of 5 people who spent an afternoon sitting around a table creating thoughtful titles for anonymous prison artwork that had been received without identification, turning their creative collaboration into a meaningful contribution to our mission and they enjoyed it! This immersive experience not only strengthens team bonds through shared creative problem-solving but also connects your group to the vital work of criminal justice reform, creating lasting impact that extends far beyond traditional team-building exercises.
